Daddy Daughter Date!

They went to the movies to see Brave.  Kloe loved every minute of it.

Conference Time

This session of conference was amazing.  President Monson announced a change in the age that men and women can serve missions.  Men are now allowed to serve at age 18 while women can serve at age 19.  I love this change.  Kaden and Kyle will be able to leave right after high school graduation.  No more partying the summer after high school, which I'm sure will be a good thing!  This change will also make it easier for Kloe and Mckinley to serve missions too.  I got married at age 20 so never had this opportunity but hopefully they won't be married at 18 and can decide if a mission is best for them. I love the gospel so much and a living prophet to give us guidance for these latter days.

Some conference traditions.  Thank you Pinterest for the cup idea!

Tuesday Night Lights!

Every Tuesday night and some Saturdays for the month of September and October the boys play flag football through the Pleasant Grove Rec Center.  It has been so much fun watching them interact with their teammates and seeing the differences between the two of them.  Kaden is way more aggressive while Kyle tries to stay clear of the ball.  Some of the highlights for the season... Kaden playing quarterback every game and catching interceptions while playing defense  Kyle also got his hand at quarterback and loved kicking the ball.  I'm so proud of them and their love for sports.  I hope they keep this passion alive.  Also, Donny Osmond was at one of Kyle's game.  I think his son was the other team's coach

Day 1 of Fall Break: Park Hopping!

The kids have 3 days off of school for fall break.  To keep everyone happy we planned fun things to do everyday.  The first day we went park hopping.  I found some fun parks that my kids hadn't really gone to, all in the same area, and we played from park to park.  It was a fun inexpensive way to spend the day.  The kids loved it.

First Stop:  Bonneville Park

Second Stop: Windsor Park

Fun playground.  There are also swings but you can't see them.
Kinley trying to sneak in a little nap.
This park has a great hill to run and roll down.
The girls had a ton of fun in this tree.  They called it their house.
Doesn't she make a cute little monkey?
McKinley learning to sit up.  Such a big girl!

Last Park:  Orem City Park

This playground wasn't as big as the other too but had some fun tall slides.
Kaden Finally getting around to eating his lunch.
As always such a happy girl to be outside all day.

We had such a fun day exploring new parks.  I also wanted to add that each park had tall mature tress so there was plenty of shade and big fields that the boys had fun playing football on.  We will definitely be doing this again soon with a new city.  Can't wait!

Hee Haw Farms

Kloe joined some friends on their field trip to Hee Haw Farms.  Halloween isn't complete without going.  Best farm around!
We have to go back with the boys.

Wes and Kloe were terrified of the animals.  It was hilarious!

McKinley is 5 Months

I am so in love with this precious little girl.  I just can't get enough of her.  She is growing way to fast it makes me sad.  I know it won't be long before she is running around and being crazy like the rest of them.

McKinley is rolling everywhere.  She loves to be on her belly and if you put her on her back she always quickly flips back over.  She loves to giggle and thinks her brothers and sister are hilarious.  She loves to eat and wants to eat all the time.  She especially like beans and mash potatoes.  She like to eat table foods more than baby food but how blames her?  She loves being outside and cries when she comes in.  She likes to watch football on TV, which is a good thing, because that's all that's on these days. Her two best friends are Natalie Brown and Ellie Layton (aside from mom).  She loves her crib and sleep about 12 hours at a night and takes a couple long naps during the day.  She is always smiling and is happy even when her big sister is trying to carry her around the house.  We all just love her so much and can't get enough of her!

GIRLS! UGH!

Yesterday Kaden came home from school with a new toy that he got from the book fair.  I asked him how he got it and he told me that a girl bought it for him.  So long story short, I found out that he has a girlfriend at school.  (which by the way she is really cute)  So, we had a discussion on not dating until your sixteen and definitely no kissing or holding hands.  Today when he came home Kyle said Kaden made his girlfriend cry.  I asked him what happened and he said that she asked to kiss him on the lips and he said no.  Then she said he couldn't be her boyfriend anymore and she freaked out on him and started crying.  She told him she hated him and even sent another boy over to tackle Kaden.  What is with girls these days.  Way to forward!  They better not mess with the Anderson boys or I will take them out! haha  Third grade and already fighting off the girls!

New Adventure

Adam started a new job today working as an estimator/project manager for a construction company.  YAY!  We are so excited to have him working normal hours and be home with us in the evenings.  Once again I have seen the Lords hand in our lives.  Since Adam completed the police academy has been applying and interviewing for officer positions EVERYWHERE!  As you can image we were struggling to understand why we were so prompted to go to the police academy and not be able to find work.  Adam decided to take a job at Nature's Sunshine as a temporary means to pay bills and provide for our needs.  One day about a month ago, Adam and I were discussing our future when Adam finally said, I'm not sure I am suppose to be a cop.  I know I was suppose to go to the academy but I now have a bad feeling about becoming a cop."  He felt bad for spending all this money and time for a career that he now feels like he shouldn't do.  I wasn't upset, but rather relieved since I have been feeling the same way lately.  So I asked him, "what should we do now?  If you could choose any job what would it be?"  His response was, "I would like to be a project manager for a construction company."  Really?  That's what he was doing before all this!  Now here is the crazy part...the next day he got a phone call out of the blue from a recruiting company that had gotten his name from a friend and wanted him to apply for a job as and estimator/project manager.  Adam told the guy he wasn't necessarily qualified for the job since it was in industrial construction but the guy told him to apply for it anyway.  Long story short.... he got the job!  I know that the Lord has blessed our family so greatly   Adam and I were talking and wondering why the Lord has blessed our finances to stretch beyond belief but not just bless us with a job.  I think it's because we were only appling for police officer positions and obviously that's not what he should be doing.  I guess we must be slow learners since once it dawned us that he shouldn't be a cop he is blessed to gets a wonderful job that will provide for our family.  It brings me so much peace and comfort that the Lord has a plan for us and as long as we are faithful he will bless us beyond our comprehension.

8 weeks to a better you!

A few weeks ago I started an 8 week challenge with a group of people from my neighborhood.  There are 10 things you need to do every day.  You get a point for each one you do for a maximum total of 10 pts a day.  Whoever has the most points at the end of the 8 week wins money. It has been hard but  I'm doing a lot better then I thought.  So far I have a perfect score, but we will see how long that will last.

Here are the 10 daily things
1.  Exercise 45 minutes a day
2.  No eating after 8 pm
3.  Get at least 7 hours of sleep
4.  Drink 64 oz of water a day
5.  No sugar or white flour
6.  No soda, fast food, or junk food
7.  Eat at least 2 servings of fruit and 2 servings of vegetables a day
8.  Write in your journal everyday.  (this is why I started blogging again)
9.  Complete at least 15 minutes of uplifting reading or scripture study
10.  Complete an act of service or a random act of kindness.
